Th
e Dome features an acoustical surround sound stereo system designed for sound journey’s. At the center of the dome a sweet spot exists, this is the concentrated focal point of the sound. This angelic central space is a reflection of the shape of the dome and the acoustic vibration. There are two smaller apse domes attached in the rear. One for the sound equipment and the other as a water fountain & spiritual alter.
The original dome floor design was to contain a small body of water, for musical experimentation (African water drumming) and modifying sound vibrations (visual patterns from high frequency input). The design was scrapped and was tiled as flat smooth surface. Sound Temple
The walls are 18″-20″ thick. The walls are made from un-stabilized earth filled sacks tamped into place with two tracks of four prong barbwire in between each row. A 6″ conc. compression ring w/ (2) #4 bars cont. locks the top of the dome in and anchors (w/ 10″ AB 12″ O.C.) the Oculus roof down from the monsoon winds.

Hi,
I’m so happy to have found your site. I love what you are doing and esp where you are doing it. I bought some land in Koh Phangan a couple of years ago, with a dream of building eco domes, I’ve since trained at Calearth and have got the ‘basics’. Have been tying off loose ends in UK and will prob be another year before we can afford to leave, as I reckon we need to be self sufficient for a couple of years. It would be great to hook up by mail and then when we get out there.I’ve got a heap of questions so help might seem one way , but when we get out there I know we can flow it back your way. I’m a pretty good all rounder and my girlfriend is a down to earth feng shui consultant (see firehorsefengshui.com ) We’ve both been going to Kpg for 15 years , hey we met there too, and we’ve got a nice bit with odd slopes and angles and rocks to play with up in Tong nai pan. Also keen to use up some of those tyre mountains and coke cans. Hope to hear from you
with love Steve
